Storage method of PU pigment

2023-06-02

PU pigment is a kind of pigment commonly used in coatings, inks and other fields. It has excellent dyeing effect and characteristics of light resistance, oxidation resistance and weather resistance. In order to ensure the quality and application effect of PU pigments, the storage method is very critical. The following is the storage method of PU pigments:

Storage temperature: The ideal storage temperature of PU pigments is between 15°C and 30°C, avoid too low or too high temperature. Too low a temperature can cause the pigment to get wet, agglomerate or lose its activity, and too high a temperature can cause the pigment to deteriorate.

Avoid direct sunlight: PU pigments should avoid direct sunlight and ultraviolet radiation, because such exposure will cause the pigment to fade, decompose, fail, etc., which will seriously affect the color effect.

Avoid humid environment: PU pigments cannot be exposed to humid environment, otherwise it will cause pigment agglomeration, mildew, mildew and other phenomena, which will affect the color effect. When storing, the pigment can be sealed and stored in a moisture-proof cabinet, or a desiccant can be used to absorb moisture.

Avoid contact with other substances: PU pigments should not be in contact with other chemical substances, oxidizing or reducing agents, etc., otherwise it may cause pigment failure, deterioration or other adverse reactions.

Regular inspection: When storing PU pigments, you should regularly check whether the packaging is in good condition and whether there is any abnormality, and find out the problems in time and solve them. It is generally recommended to check every six months to dispose of the pigment beyond the storage period or re-verify the use effect.

To sum up, when storing PU pigments, you need to pay attention to temperature, light, humidity, avoid contact with other chemical substances, etc. It is also very important to check regularly and keep the packaging intact.
